Convince parents (without fighting every night)

The
"LET ME BUILD IN PEACE"
GUIDE.

Real scripts and safety rules for teen builders in India so you can keep building without daily drama at home.

Made from personal trial and error. Not perfect. Still useful.

(yes, some of this was literally typed after getting yelled at)

01

School and startup life

Approach A

Treat this like a deal

They pay for your food, school, WiFi, all of it. So make expectations clear from day one instead of arguing every week.

Try this line:"I'll keep grades above [X], you protect my build hours."
Approach B

The 51/49 rule

Don't try to "win" this conversation. Show consistency. Homework first, build second, repeat.

A simple playbook

"How YOU Can Be An Entrepreneur" simple and practical

1. Get one customer first

Don't obsess over logos first. Get one real customer, even if it's ₹100. That proves you solved something.

2. Be honest about your age

Be honest about your age. It usually opens doors, not closes them.

3. Skill beats money early on

No cash? Fine. Skill and consistency still compound fast.

03

How to show up online

Don't try to be famous. Just be clear, useful, and safe.

Profile basics

  • Bio: what you build + what you know.
  • Pinned post: your best project, not random quotes.
  • Contact: email people can actually use.

What to post

  • Behind the scenes: coding, mistakes, fixes, progress.
  • Build in public: share prototypes and ask for feedback.
  • Your why: tell people why this matters to you.

Safety rules

Don't post these. Ever.

  • Live Location (Wait until you leave)
  • Home Address
  • Bank Details / Phone Number

The legal part (India)

Real example

How I set up Trooth Allied Pvt. Ltd. at 13

In India, minors can't sign contracts or hold a DIN. So we used a parent-shareholding setup while I handled product and tech myself.

  • 99% Shares: Held by my mother (Gunjan Kumari) for legal compliance.
  • 1% Shares: Held by my father (Amit Kumar).
  • Role split: I run product + tech. They handle legal signatures.

Scripts for hard conversations

Try saying this (in your own words)

"Okay, fair point. Let's set a number: I keep my grades above [85%]. If I drop below that, I pause startup stuff till I recover. No excuses."

Why this works: A clear deal. Parents trust plans more than hype.

Want less arguing and more trust?

Keep your word for 30 days. That's usually when the tone at home starts changing.
